Mrs. Ashley Shoemake

Hello My Name Is...

Ashley Shoemake

School

I am the third grade ELA and social studies teacher at Wallace Elementary Middle School. This is my second year teaching in Marlboro County School District. I have been teaching 10 years. I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Masters in Education from Francis Marion University. I spent the first 8 years of my teaching career in 4th grade at Pageland Elementary School in Chesterfield County. During that time I was able to build on my learning of becoming a high quality teacher for South Carolina. I believe that all children can learn. They just learn in different ways. Therefore, I strive to build relationships with each of our students and provide fun and engaging lessons to meet the needs of all of our students.

NOTES:
***For important dates and assignments, please check my calendar.

*** Students are required to complete Weekly Reading Homework. Students are to read at least 20 mins each night Mon.-Thurs. and complete the reading assignment on the reading sheet that is provided at the beginning of each week on Monday. A parent signature is required each night.
***Your child's parent/teacher communicator folder will be sent home every week on Tuesday with your child's behavior chart for the past week, graded papers, and any important information that needs to be sent to parents by the school. Students have until Thursday to return the folders with the signed papers. Please know that it is the child's responsibility to give the parent the folder to be signed and put back in his/her backpack to return to the teacher. If the child fails to return the folder with correct papers by Thursday of the same week he/she will earn no recess time and silent lunch until it is returned to the teacher. This is one way we can communicate with one another and for the child to show responsibility.
